Sewage cost will be based on pay-per-use basis; Department of Drain Construction calls for household collaboration in pipeline alteration

On the 16th of this month, Taipei City Councilors drew attention to unfair sewage pump fees and various associated maintenance fees forced upon partial households, in addition to their sewerage system usage fee, that have not yet eliminated underground septic tank usage. The Sewerage Systems Office of the Public Works Department of the Taipei City Government states that drainage in households which fail to comply with underground septic tank pipeline alteration during construction, resulting in an inability to eliminate septic tank usage, will nonetheless be diverted into the public sewerage system and be collected for purification at the sewage treatment plant and that the government cost burden is no different from that for general users, as it is compliant with the pay-per-use basis stated in the Sewer Act. The Sewerage Systems Office calls for household collaboration in pipeline alteration to avoid the burden of a double charge.
