Recycled water of the Dihua Sewage Treatment Plant is currently used for applications without human contact, such as used by Parks and Street Light Office, Environment Protection Department, or for free-of-charge fetch by the public for watering plants or washing down streets.   

Recycled water of the Dihua Sewage Treatment Plant is disinfected by sodium hypochlorite followed by sand filtering, the effluent even contains much lower chlorine content; however, for psychological reasons, still, it is not suitable for human contact for safety concerns.
